More Planes, More Places, More Fun

Brussels Airlines will operate a fleet of 50 aircraft this summer. This includes:

  • 11 long-haul Airbus A330s (for those epic far-flung trips)
  • 39 short- and medium-haul planes (for your European weekend escapes)
  • And 4 Airbus A220s from Air Baltic to help cover the busy summer season

Best one? From summer 2023 Brussels Airlines flies weekly directly to the incredible madeiran capital of Funchal. 🌞

Attention New Destination: Sounds breathtaking. Funchal is every tourist’s dream, but now, the journey to Funchal has become even simpler.

Bonus: In addition, they are planning to increase air travel to Faro and Porto making it even much easier to organize yourself a beautiful getaway in Portugal.

More Flights to Spain and Portugal

Brussels Airlines is going full throttle on Spain and Portugal this summer, adding extra frequencies to some of their most popular destinations:

  • 15 destinations in Spain (including Malaga, Barcelona, Valencia, and Madrid)
  • Extra flights to Fuerteventura (starting this winter and continuing in summer)
  • More flights to Samos and Lesbos in Greece

So pack your sunscreen—Spain’s calling, and it’s about to get a lot easier to answer.

Brussels Airlines Goes to Germany and Switzerland

An extra positive development for eveyone in Germany and Switzerland: several strategic routes are taken over by Brussels Airlines.

Flights from Brussels to Munich and Frankfurt will be further served by Brussels Airlines as opposed to Lufthansa.

Also, Madrid has announced it will take over key routes in Switzerland to Zurich and Geneva previously operated by the kernel.

On the long-haul side, Brussels Airlines is adding an 11th Airbus A330 to its fleet—making their long-haul operation bigger than ever before!

To support all this growth, Brussels Airlines is hiring 370 new employees. Here's the breakdown:

  • 190 new cabin crew members to make sure your flights are as comfy as possible
  • 50 pilots to fly the skies with style
  • 60 ground staff to ensure smooth departures and arrivals
  • 40 Maintenance and Engineering pros to keep those planes in tip-top shape
  • 20 at headquarters to manage all the magic behind the scenes
