Jordan Trail: A Walk Worth Talking About
Jordan Trail: A Walk Worth Talking About
If you’ve been itching for an adventure that doesn’t involve navigating Ikea on a Saturday, Lonely Planet has your back. Jordan just made its “Best in Travel” list for 2025, and the Jordan Trail is stealing the spotlight. It’s 676 kilometers (420 miles) of jaw-dropping landscapes, charming villages, and just enough cardio to justify eating your weight in hummus afterward.

Why April Is Peak Jordan Trail Season
April in Jordan is basically Mother Nature showing off. Temperatures are a delightful 20–23°C (68–73°F)—warm enough to skip the parka but not so hot that your sunscreen feels like it’s losing a battle. The valleys are lush, wildflowers are blooming like crazy, and every step feels like you’re walking through a travel magazine spread.
What’s the Big Deal About This Trail?
Here’s the thing: the Jordan Trail isn’t just a hike; it’s a full-blown adventure. Stretching from the country’s northern tip to its southern border, it’s like Jordan’s greatest hits album but without the tourist crowds. Sure, you could do the whole 676 kilometers if you’re part machine, but even a small section will have you saying, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
Expect dramatic ridges, secret villages, and views so stunning they might make you tear up—or maybe that’s just the wind (looking at you, khamaseen). And let’s not forget the unspoken rule of hiking: every calorie burned is a license for an extra plate of falafel.
Move Over Petra, There’s a New Star in Town
Yes, we all love Petra and Wadi Rum—they’re Jordan’s Beyoncé and Jay-Z. But the Jordan Trail is like the indie artist you discover before they blow up. It’s raw, real, and gives you a sneak peek into the country’s soul. Plus, nothing beats meeting locals and wandering into landscapes you didn’t even know existed.
So, Are You Ready to Trailblaze?
April is calling, and it’s saying, “Come hike me!” Whether you’re in it for the views, the adventure, or just the excuse to post an epic wind-swept selfie, the Jordan Trail delivers.

Sink Into Bliss at the Dead Sea
Sink Into Bliss at the Dead Sea
Imagine a place so low, even your worst decisions don’t feel quite as bad. Welcome to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, where gravity gives you a break, and you can float like a majestic jellyfish on a sea of salts, minerals, and, let’s be real, all the stuff that’s too salty for most other bodies of water. Located over 400 meters (1,312 feet) below sea level, it’s the ultimate spa day, minus the overpriced cucumber water.

The Magic of Floating
In the Dead Sea, there’s absolutely no effort or struggle needed to float, the water density is unbelievable. It wouldn’t be surprising if one could do the backstroke while holding a margarita. The water is such that it does not matter if one is the worst or best swimmer, or whether they can swim at all. Like a cork placed in water, you will float while your body absorbs the heavenly ingredients the sea has to offer. If floaty hashtags are your type, then this is the perfect chance to get a snap for Instagram with a caption that talks about float goals since it is a place which yells ‘ I am on a holiday and you are not’.
A Salty Cocktail (And We Mean That in the Best Way)
The Dead Sea is the best natural beauty mask. It is as if God was in the mood to celebrate and invited every salty river, including the Jordan River, so that together they can create a scrumptious mix of salts and minerals. And they are not just any ordinary salts, but ones that can make your skin feel as if it has been polished with car wax.
It is more than just a swim — it’s a skincare treatment, a mud bath and natural beauty mask all put together. You can mud pack yourself and lie down happily while the salt sea does the work of restoring the beauty of your skin.
Return to Reality (Sort Of)
After a day of floating like a pro and marinating in the world’s most exclusive spa treatment, you’ll head back to your hotel in Amman for an overnight stay. You’ll leave the Dead Sea feeling like a human version of a spa day, with skin so soft you’ll wonder if you’ve been replaced with a silk pillowcase. And while you may have left the world’s lowest point physically, emotionally, you’ll be floating just a little higher than you were before. So, pack your swimsuit and your sense of humor — the Dead Sea awaits!
So come Sink Into Bliss at the Dead Sea!
