Ingredients Singapore Chilli Crab:

  • 1 kg mud crab (because we're going big on the crabby goodness)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (the saucy dance partner)
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced (for a flavourful kick)
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated (the zesty superstar)
  • 3-4 red chilies, sliced (adjust to your spice tolerance)
  •  1 cup tomato ketchup (the unexpected hero)
  •  1/2 cup chili sauce (for that extra spicy punch)
  •  2 tablespoons soy sauce (the salty sidekick)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (to balance the heat)
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth (the liquid gold)
  •  2 green onions, chopped (for a pop of colour)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (the herbalicious finale)

How to Prepare Singapore Chilli Crab:

  1. Let’s get crackin’! Clean and chop your crab into pieces with the shell removed – Give it a VIP ticket straight to Flavour Town!
  2. Heat up some vegetable oil in a large wok or pan. Add minced garlic cloves, grated ginger root and sliced red chillis; stir fry until fragrant…your kitchen will smell like paradise!
  3. Now it’s time for our star player – THE CRAB! Toss him around in the wok for a bit so he can soak up all that garlicy, gingery deliciousness.
  4. Next pour in tomato ketchup, chili sauce, soy sauce, sugar and chicken or vegetable broth – mix it up like you’re hosting a crabby party!Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook until the crab is tender and coated in a thick, spicy sauce. It's like a flavour symphony in a wok!
  5. Let the mixture simmer until the crab is tender and coated in thick spicy sauce. It’s like an orchestra of flavors happening right there on your stove top!
  6. When your crab reaches its peak of perfection sprinkle chopped green onions and fresh cilantro leaves over top – this is where things start looking pretty!

There you have it! Singapore Chilli Crab that's as fun to make as it is to eat. Grab your crab crackers, embrace the heat, and let the flavour dance begin!
