Events in Austria

Over the years Austria has accumulated a lot of culture and traditions. Whether it is a classical music festival or Christmas markets, the country has various events to showcase its culture and artistry. Shows usually take place at beautiful venues such as in the palatial rooms of the city of Vienna or amidst the natural beauty of the Alps.

One of the highlights is Ball Season in Vienna when luxury and tradition are mixed in spinning waltzes. The Salzburg Festival, known as one of the best music festivals in the world, comprises opera, drama, and concerts in this breathtaking south Alpine Land.

We add events on a continuous basis. So if you want to stay informed of the latest information, please bookmark this page.

It is hard to choose which events we should publish. We are trying to include all the main ones, but if you would like to see another event added, please let us know at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

One of the most notable cultural events taking place in February every year is the Vienna Opera Ball, and this is a yearly event in the country of Austria. Considered as the ballroom of the Wiener Staatsoper, this sparkling night is occupied with the crème de la crème of the society dancing the polka, hearing music and following the old customs. It is a feast for eyes and ears, a feast prepared in all quality of the Viennese atmosphere, where foreigners are coming to feel the beauty of Classical Austrian music.

Krampusnacht

Around the first week of December, Austria becomes adorned in the bizarre yet exciting ritual of Krampusnacht. December 5th marks the annual Krampus night, which sees towns all over the country come alive with the krampus horned devil like figure who mete out punishment on wayward kids. Perfect strides are always performed in fancy parades, which add thrill to the season’s entertainment but with a devilish twist.
