Iceland is a land of natural beauty and diverse culture. It is in their events that the fierce nature of the land is usually displayed as well as the deep civilization of the people. Such celebrations usually include winter, spring, summer and autumn festivals and activities where music, stories and games abound. There are various events ranging from the summer’s midnight sun festival and the winter’s celebrating the northern lights.
The Icelanders appreciate the past, and offerevents such as a Þorrablót, a midwinter banquet, in which ancient practices are re-enacted. Be it the arts of Reykjavik that you are immersed in or there are smaller regional occasions, there is much to see and do.

Additional Events in Iceland
Þorrablót Festival
Every year at the end of January, the beginning of February, Icelanders celebrate mid-winter festival known as Þorrablót. It has a Viking History and this style of hosting invites the people to indulge in the Icelandic food which includes fermented shark meat, the pickled testicles of ram, and dried fish. Interesting parts of other communities invites the people and especially tourists to learn the history through stories and songs and the cultures through dances.
Iceland Airwaves
In every November, one of the greatest music festivals of Iceland, known as ‘Iceland Air Waves’ is celebrated in Reykjavik city. This multi-day artistic and booking event features both local and internationally acclaimed performers as it takes place in various city venues with a diverse structural style of music from indie to electronic music. Such a chance is the best when it comes to discovering or experiencing more of the culture of Iceland.
