Shakespeare in the Park
Dates: June through till August in 2025. This annual event, held since 1962 at the Delacorte Theater in 1962! At this time, we are still not 100% sure it will take place, as the Delacrote Theatre has been closed since the Fall of 2023 for a $78 million renovation. The summer of 2025 is supposed to include Shakespeare in the Park again.
Over 5 million people have visited since 1962. Free outdoor productions of Shakespeare's plays, often host famous actors and actresses. What to think of James Earl Jones in Othello, Meryl Streep in The Taming of the Shrew, and Al Pacino in The Merchant of Venice.

Note: the 2024 summer production of Shakespeare in the Park will not take place, as the Delacorte Theatre undergoes renovations.

Shakespeare in the Park tickets are FREE and are distributed in a variety of ways across all five boroughs:

- In-person lottery at The Public Theater
- In-person distribution in the boroughs
- Digital lottery with TodayTix
- In-person standby line in Central Park
- Become a supporter of The Public Theater with a gift of $300 or more to access reserved seating (limited to keep the majority of tickets accessible to all)
