On a regional level, it is assorted festivities, like the cow parades, that unite the residents, such as umbrellas and rustic tones of nature. So, ordinary people celebrate their national holiday, Swiss National Day, in a traditional way, with the sky being lit up thanks to having a lot of fireworks on that day. Sechseläuten
Sechseläuten is a spring parade, held every year in Zurich on the third Monday of April. It is the day that symbolizes the end of winter and welcome of warmer months. The main event is the "Böögg" or giant snowman, stuffed with explosives and resolved to be burned. The belief is that the sooner the head blows up, the sooner summer is expected to come.
Fête de l'Escalade
La célébration de la Fête de l'Escalade à Genève a lieu, this time every year, in the memory of the defeat of the French Duke of Savoy's armies in 1602. Locals perform parades, reenact battles, and break up marzipan-filled chocolate jars that represent the melting pot used during the defense of the town.
