Events in Venezuela

Venezuela is a country with many traditions and many celebrations. Many of the activities are of cultural significance, including costume, music and dancing, which are part of the festivals. Religious festivals such as ‘La Divina Pastora’ and Independence Day which has many concerts and parades are part of national holidays as well.

Most popular of the awaited activities is the Carnival, characterized by a more fiesta atmosphere when the streets are flooded with parading characters and accompanied by the sounds of Venezuelan folklore music. Because there are different regions in the country, they will increase varieties to the celebrations making all of them different.

It is hard to choose which events we should publish. We are trying to include all the main ones, but if you would like to see another event added, please let us know at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We add events on a continuous basis. So if you want to stay informed of the latest information, please bookmark this page.

Additional Events in Venezuela

Carnival in Venezuela

Carnival is distinctly the most exciting celebration in Venezuela. Parades, music and vigorous dancing best characterize this celebration. It is a celebration that is calendar based and it is usually carried out in February or March. It is an occasion where cities around the country are agog with decorations, and flaring emotions. The coastal towns of Puerto Cabello or Carúpano are famous for hyperbolic crowds indulging in celebrations. It is an opportunity for different local cultures’s republics, as well as African, and Spanish, to mingle and integrate into the heart of today’s Venezuela.

El Día de la Chinita

We celebrate El Día de la Chinita in Maracaibo every 18th of November in honor of the blessed Virgen de Chiquinquirá, the patroness of the city. It is a festival that extends for several days and includes religious marches, gaita, which is a type of local music, and spectacular fireworks that entertain the audience. The climax is an open-air service during which the participants also embark on festive activities as singing and dancing takes over the streets. It is a rich experience religiously and culturally and is crucial for the residents of the Zulia region.
