airBaltic Unveils 16 New Global Destinations

Please sit tight and do watch out for the seatbelt signs, for airBaltic is about to raise your travel aspirations to another level. Announced on September 4, 2024, the airline is enhancing its destinations, as 16 new routes will be added from Baltic bases. Whether it is the warm beaches of Greece that beckon, the lovely streets of Barcelona, or a touch of thrill in the heart of Iceland, airBaltic will meet your needs.

What’s New on the Flight Path?

In an aviation celebration that will most definitely set your desire to travel ablaze, airBaltic is starting to introduce these new cool features:

From Riga (RIX), Latvia:

• Rzeszow (RZE), Poland: Launching on October 28, 2024. Polish your language skills and get ready for a journey!
• Cluj-Napoca (CLJ), Romania: Starting May 2, 2025. Time to explore Romania’s medieval charm!
• Stavanger (SVG), Norway: Take off from June 3, 2025. Watch out for those stunning fjords!
• Mykonos (JMK), Greece: Beginning June 5, 2025. Sun, sand, and souvlaki await!

From Tallinn (TLL), Estonia:

• Barcelona (BCN): Kicking off February 19, 2025. Tapas and Gaudí, here we come!
• Palma de Mallorca (PMI): Starting April 13, 2025. Pack your sunscreen for this sunny getaway!
• Hamburg (HAM): Taking off May 2, 2025. Get ready for some bratwurst and harbor views!
• Keflavik International Airport (KEF): From May 14, 2025. Ice, lava, and magical landscapes are just a flight away!
• Tirana (TIA): Launching June 2, 2025. Discover Albania’s hidden gems!

From Vilnius (VNO), Lithuania:

• Tel Aviv (TLV): Starting March 30, 2025. A blend of ancient history and modern vibrancy!
• Prague (PRG): Also from March 30, 2025. Time for some fairy-tale magic in the Czech capital!
• Chisinau (KIV): Starting April 2, 2025. Moldovan adventures await!
• Rhodes (RHO): Also beginning April 2, 2025. Sunlit Greek islands are calling!
• Valencia (VLC): Launching April 16, 2025. From paella to festivals, Valencia has it all!
• Tirana (TIA): Starting June 3, 2025. More Albanian delights coming your way!

Route Frequency:

• Most of these routes will operate twice weekly, with the exceptions are Vilnius–Chisinau, Tallinn–Keflavik, and Riga–Mykonos, which will operate once a week.

Brussels Airlines increases Flights Between Vilnius and Brussels

For the winter season starting on October 31, 2024, Brussels Airlines will be operating five times a week between Vilnius and Brussels. This is in addition to the four flights per week it runs during summer thus enhancing the connection of these two cities.

Flight Details

• Timetable: This is wonderful news as it means there will be more flight son this route than ever. The services run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
• Classes: Brussels Airlines have 2 options when travelling. There is business class as well as economy class. This gives travellers different options depending on their different levels of comfort during their journey. 

Better Connections

This move will bring about increased connectivity between Lithuania’s capital city and Brussels which is not only a major centre for business travel but also receives many tourists every year. All three Baltic states are served by at least one of Lufthansa Group airlines except for Lithuania where all four fly there.

Lithuania Joins The Michelin Guide: A Culinary Adventure Begins -

Urgent, very interesting information! Lithuania has formally become the part of the MICHELIN Guide family, alongside its Baltic neighbours Estonia and Latvia. Can we clap our hands for this achievement in cooking?

Across Lithuania the Michelin Inspectors have taken a tasty tour to find out what’s best of the best in dining. They’ve been everywhere from Klaipėda – a pretty port city with historic timber-framed buildings lining its streets – to Trakai, home to the fairy-tale-like Trakai Island Castle on Lake Galvė.

And then there’s Kaunas, with its medieval fortress and impressive Modernist architecture (UNESCO-approved), and Vilnius – a beautiful capital where Gothic, Renaissance, Classical and Baroque ply their architectural trade side by side.

All that time they were tasting dishes: traditional Lithuanian food one moment; French-, Italian- or Indian-inspired dishes another — such as simple but delicious bagels from the market or an elaborate tasting menu made using only local ingredients.

Finnair Expands Its Horizons

Hot news for the holidaymakers! For winter 2024 and summer 2025, Finnair shows its new traffic plan with more destinations than ever before. New services will be provided to Japan, Latvia, Dallas USA, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland and Norway.

Japan at a Glance

In summer 2025 Finnair will fly to Japan more often by adding additional weekly frequencies to Tokyo Narita. This means up to daily flights between both Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita — giving travellers even greater flexibility and opportunity to discover this beautiful country. And that’s not all; Nagoya will also have a third weekly frequency so as customers can explore another part of this diverse nation like never before.

Discover Kirkenes in Norway

Finnair is also opening up Northern Norway with a brand new destination – the charming town of Kirkenes. Starting from the beginning of summer season 2025 onwards, three times a week Finnair is going to fly from Helsinki via Ivalo using a 68-seater ATR aircraft. This route opens Finnish Lapland’s enchanting winter wonderland and northern Norwegian fjords for Finnish and international travelers alike – while offering an excellent opportunity experiencing famous Hurtigruten cruises that sail to/from Kirkenes as well.

New Routes and Increased Frequencies:

“We are excited to add yet another destination which further supports our extensive Arctic network,” said Finnair Chief Commercial Officer. “This new route provides an easy way for travelers going up North Norway so it’s quick getting there from Helsinki.”

Baltic Boost

Additionally, Finnair is increasing frequencies on its Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius routes during both winter season 2024 and summer season 2025. Tallinn will see five extra weekly frequencies; Riga will have another five extra weekly frequencies; Vilnius gets two extra weekly frequencies making travel to these vibrant, history-rich cities even easier.

Dallas Gets a Winter Warm-up

For winter season 2024, Finnair is adding frequencies to its Dallas route, transforming the service into a year-round daily flight. Finnair’s flights to Dallas also give good connections onto American Airlines extensive network out of their Dallas hub for those travelling to the USA.

AirBaltic Unveils 11 New Routes for Summer 2024

The Latvian airline, airBaltic has just released its flight schedule for the next summer which is filled with new enthralling experiences. It is introducing eleven new routes that will link the Baltics to 70 splendid destinations in their network.

Do you know anything about the new routes? What about Riga being directly connected to Alicante, Tirana. Sofia, Ljubljana, Skopje and Pristina? Doesn’t it sound exciting?

Here’s a preview of what AirBaltic’s 11 new routes will offer:

• Riga – Alicante Spain (2 flights weekly; commencing February 27th, 2024)

• Riga – Tirana Albania (2 flights weekly; commencing May 2nd, 2024)
